Today is an appreciation episode for Thomas Sowell, the great scholar, and syndicated columnist who actually ended his syndicated column just a week or two ago.

I wrote an email about that to my email list, and I'm very sad to see that come to an end. But he's 86 years old after all. And it's incredible that he wrote as long as he did. He's just a tremendous scholar. And when Gene Epstein wrote to me and said, let's do an episode together on Thomas Sol and his work. I thought, yes,

that's an absolute definite. That's a wonderful topic. Gene, of course, is the economics

and book review editor at Barron's, the nation's premier financial publication. And he knows an

awful lot about the work of Thomas Soul. We've got a bunch of books we're going to talk about.

And he's somebody you're going to want to read.

He definitely is.
