Talk about choosing yourself, Amanda Palmer has always blazed a path that pushes the boundaries of what most of us would be comfortable with. Her latest project is a book called The Art of Asking, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Let People Help that explores the fear most of us experience. Why is it so hard to ask for something from those who are closest to you? 0:35.0	When I was reading the Art of Asking, I got actually depressed at first because I'm supposed to write a book called The Power of Asking.
0:46.0	And I actually said, even to my publisher, I can't write this anymore.
0:50.0	Amanda Palmer has already written the book because your book is excellent.
0:54.0	You may have to change the title.
0:57.0	I felt it makes you feel any better.
0:59.0	I felt exactly the same way.
1:01.0	When I started busking into my book and writing the first few chapters, I picked up Garing greatly by Brane Brown.
1:10.0	And I was like, fuck, she already wrote my book.
1:13.0	This is useful.
1:14.0	Even though she was writing it from an academic perspective, we were covering a lot of the same ground.
1:20.0	And then I just gave my self-cultic permission.
1:23.0	Even though I was saying a lot of the same things, I decided to embrace it as a matter of that guy.
1:29.0	A couple of points.
1:31.0	I think her book, which I read also, is an excellent book.
1:35.0	I think it does rely a lot on academic research as well as a personal experience.
1:41.0	Whereas I view your book almost as, it's almost like a weird sort of sequel to Just Kids by Patty Smith.
1:49.0	Because it's not only about the art of asking, but it's also about art.
