Welcome in to the online choir podcast. It is Jeremy Warner and Derek Piper, and we got some big news today.

So we're talking a lot of theignai hoops. First of all,

Illinois adds a great talent. And I want to bring up my pronunciation guide that I've created

for myself, Derek, just so I get it right. But Casparis, Yacchishionis. I'm going with that.

We'll figure it out. We'll see what Illinois says when he signs.

But Kasparis is a big addition for Illinois. Lithuanian Guard had a great, great tournament over at the Adidas Next Generation tournament.

We'll break that down to what he brings to the program. And shout out to Illinois.

And their talent accrual. They have two players that

just made the USA basketball, a U18 national team that will compete this summer in one of the

FIBA events. So we'll talk about that because Merez Johnson and Jeremiah Fears, two of the 12

players on that roster, not bad to have coming into your program. But Derek, let's talk about Yucashionis, because that's a big addition.

How big of a deal of this, and what does he bring to the lineup?

I think it's a really big deal.

He's highly respected in the international scene and someone that Illinois was able to pivot

to when some things broke different ways throughout

this offseason. Of course, we started talking AJ Store, a little bit of David Jones, Igor

Dimmon, and then the ability to land on Kasparis is someone that can do a lot of different

things with good size, very skilled, ability to shoot the three. Look at in that Spain league,

about 38% from beyond the arc and a high level score at 19 points a game. But his feel for the

game is something that really stands out in addition to his ability to score, just the way that

he is able to see the floor, manipulate defenses, make reads off of pick and rolls, and just the ability to get where he wants
