This past year, I have found myself fascinated by the types of work being done out in the world right now,

from artists to engineers to teachers to stay-at-home parents.

There's no shortage of really cool things being done out in the world right now as we speak.

It's pretty phenomenal.

There's well-known names out there doing great work, but just as important, there's work

being done by the people we live around, makers, doers, dreamers. So for this short special series

on The Simple Show, we're going to be talking with creative women who do interesting work.

I wanted to focus specifically on women because, well, there's fantastic women

out in the world blowing my mind with what they do, and I want to celebrate that. We're so often the

ones that hold the fabric of our families and day-to-day lives together, and that is essential.

But I want to remind us and celebrate the cool stuff we all get to enjoy because of women getting

out there and doing good work. Big and small, both behind the scenes and out there for all of us to see.

For the next few weeks, you'll hear from entrepreneurs, artists, travelers, and creatives

as they let us peek behind the curtain and learn a little bit more about what they do.

In particular, we're talking with two visual artists, one singer-songwriter, one chef, one social

entrepreneur, one digital podcasting pioneer from Down Under. And for this episode, we're talking

with a woman who, like my family not too long ago, is traveling the world

with her family and creating stories for all of us to enjoy. It's Tanya Landon, one of the co-founders

of Around the World's stories, a digital subscription of audio stories starring children from around

the world, helping us explore and learn about the world through our earbuds without the

cost of a plane ticket. She tells us what it's like to run a business while continually traveling.
