At the beginning of every day, or at the end of every week, or at the end of every month

or every year, we talk about New Year's resolutions, I think, by and large.

It kind of comes from Jonathan Edwards, resolved to do these things.

Not that I'm going to be perfect in these areas, but, hey, let's pause, and this is really

the idea of a Sabbath.

I'm looking back on the previous week on what took place, and I'm planning in the upcoming

week what I can do better.

I'm going to do that.

So it's rare if you'll see me getting set up a car.

If I'm all by myself, I leave a grocery store, I leave work, I get set up my car, I just

pause.

And I think back on that day, on that encounter, upon whatever's going on, what am I doing

to move forward?

What just took place here?

Thank you, God.

What's ahead is okay with me, whether that's red lights, whether that's accidents, whether

I never make my destination, whatever you want to do.

This is really what Jonathan Edwards, he, the way he lived his life, with this resolution.
