From boredofborders.com:
"Karlis is an ex-project manager in the field of waste management who at the age of 28 realized that visiting mountains only a couple of times a year just won’t do, so he left his job and started a life of adventures and freedom, spreading the addiction and attracting others to BoB as well. Every adventure has a different team, but all of BoB team members have one thing in common - urge to get moving and true love for adventures.
In 2013, Karlis crossed Europe from North Cape to Gibraltar on Nordic skates in 60 days covering more than 6150 kilometers and setting a new Guinness Record - The longest ride on inline-skates. (The Guinness guys have not acknowledged this yet, but who cares - we know it’s true.)
From the end of January till mid-February 2014, Karlis and three other cycling enthusiasts traveled from Riga to Sochi by bicycle, realizing a 2840 kilometers long wintery ride and reaching the capital of the Winter Olympic Games of 2014 in 17 days."
At the time of this interview, Karlis was making his way to mainland Asia via rowboat across the Pacific Ocean in Papua New Guinea.

| 1:07.6 | this talk from a couple years ago about he's calling us from Papua New Guinea, by the way, too. |
| 1:12.9 | So pretty adventurous just in the fact that he's calling us from so far around the world talking about this experience of circumnavigating the globe via human power. |

| 1:27.5 | I figured that it would just be such a great episode to get the juices flowing, |
| 1:31.9 | to keep the things rolling. |
| 1:32.9 | I know we've been talking a lot lately about huge adventures, |
| 1:36.1 | and I want to pare it down to things that are sometimes more relatable, |
| 1:39.3 | sometimes we can do on a more regular basis. |
| 1:43.1 | I will be doing a very short adventure in a couple weekends. So if |
| 1:46.7 | anybody's in the Florida area, Central Florida, want to go kayaking for two days, let me know |
| 1:52.2 | I'm going to be doing an overnighter with some friends. And I'm trying to fit those in at least |
| 1:57.0 | every other month this year. So six adventures a year at the minimum, with even smaller |
| 2:02.6 | ones and different opportunities throughout. So between the big circumnavigations of the |
| 2:08.3 | globe fit in as much adventure as you can because it's all the same stuff. It's essentially |
