Summary

We are headed back to the good old days this week on NMP as Mathias and Daniel sit down with Gustav Holberg and Kjell Braaten , two of the OG musicians who helped start the genre we now know as, "Viking Music." Together with the boys they'll be sharing stories of their humble beginnings at a millenium new years party, and marveling at how huge the scene has become propelled by bands like Wardruna and Heilung. How did we get here from there? Well, it's complicated.

0:08.2	our Yorkshire Mead. So what we've done is we're completely rebranded, relabeled,
0:12.1	and we've also added a couple of new flavors.
0:14.1	Now before I tell you about the new flavors, I want to tell you a little bit about the meat production
0:17.8	because this stuff is really something special.
0:19.8	It's made at a micromedia just on the outskirts of York, and is ran by a fellow called Pete Allanson, and this guy does everything himself.
0:27.0	He keeps the bees, he sustainably harvest the honey from his own bees, he then foments the honey to make the mead. He bottles the mead, he labels
0:37.1	a mead, he sends it out to us, I mean this guy does everything and and mead is what he does and that's
0:41.7	part of why I think this stuff is so amazing
0:43.8	because he has such a short journey from production to bottling to end user and I think it
0:48.9	really is a special product. So we have our three traditional ones you might have seen on the website before which are
0:54.6	mead of Serinos, our mead of Brigid and our mead of Morrigan.
0:58.0	The Morrigan is an elderberry, the Serinos is a Heather Hunae and the mead of Brigide is a traditional.
1:03.0	Now on top of that what we've done is we've added a spice mead which is
1:06.9	sirtas mead we have Loki's curse which is a pineapple and coconut
1:10.8	mead and then we also have tears sacrifice which is a whiskey and cherry
1:15.2	me and I mean that stuff is absolutely beautiful. All these means are available in
1:20.0	75 sale bottles at a 25 sale bottles so you can pick your size. On the website we also
1:25.2	pair it in a gift set where you get 25 sale bottles and a small drinking horn perfect for gifting or a little treat
1:30.8	for yourself even. Even if you don't like Mead, it's worth going and looking at this stuff just for the artwork and for the bottles.
1:37.0	Saxon Storyteller has done the artwork and I mean he's absolutely nailed it with these. The labels look beautiful and I'm really proud of it I'm sure you can tell.
