The International Swimming Federation establishes new policies for transgender athletes, Texas

is bounced out of the college world series, and we break down the top five play callers

The International Swimming Federation, which basically includes the Olympics, sent

some shockwaves throughout the sports community after using common sense and science to determine

that male swimmers who went through a male puberty shouldn't compete against female swimmers.

Now this ruling comes as the Lea Thomas story has been swimming around athletics for

some time, calling for any gender to be able to compete against any gender regardless

of biology or advantage.

To put it in layman's terms, these people saw the data and figured out that letting men

swim against women would lead to the ruin of women's water sports.

Something that's pretty evident after we watch Lea Thomas destroy the competition, looking

basically like Aquaman swimming against mere mortals.

Now, if that doesn't scream loud enough that this type of reform is needed everywhere

in sports, the Federation left open the opportunity for women to still compete against men

if they choose to go that route.

So the band is really only one way, and it makes sense because the odds of someone doing

the reverse of what Lea Thomas did is highly unlikely.

But there is one area where I feel like they capitulated a little bit, and that is the

Federation allowing born males to compete against women if they started their transition

or hormonal therapy before the age of 12 or before they go through a male puberty.
