defamation trial of writer and broadcaster Mark Stein. Stein has been sued for defamation by

climate scientist Professor Michael Mann. Stein described man's famous

hockey stick graph as a fraud. Man is also suing writer Rand Simberg who made a similar comment.

Very fancy courtroom, like literally the kind of courtroom that you see in movies that don't really exist in real life.

I've been I've covered a lot of courtrooms. It's the nicest courtroom I've ever been in I would think it's very nice

Very nice it's actually got windows which is a radical architectural

Nice to do innovation in modern courtrooms. So on the show today,

Mark Stein finished his questioning of Michael Mann. He hammered him on some key

points, including the point that they're trying to get to a lot and I think they're making some

headway on it that man doesn't have a damages case. Don't forget man is suing for defamation.

You have to prove that it was false, you have to prove it was done with malice but you

also have to prove it damaged him. So yeah the burden is on the plaintiff to to prove

damages and so this went to the heart of a lot of stuff that happened today.
