If you ask me, songwriters are some of the most worldly and intelligent people I've ever come across.

So this is a journey of learning why

people write songs, how people write songs, and most importantly who the people are

who write the songs. Now I'm co-producing this with my friend Joe London who is nominated for a Grammy earlier

this year for Best Country song.

Today's guest is pretty exciting for me. He was actually one of my old booking agents from my band Glacier Hiking. That is before he started writing number one songs. That's right. He was the kind of guy who was writing number one songs on the side. I mean most of the time when someone tells me that they want to be a songwriter and they're doing some other job I just

assume that songwriting is a hobby for them but this guy was talented enough

that his hobby brought him number one worldwide smashes. So this one we recorded a little bit ago.

We did it in the morning, which is why we start this thing eating breakfast.
