About Carla

As a stay-at-home mama to two "tween" kids, I finally have more time to dedicate to reading. I have loved getting back into a passion of mine that I've had since I was a small girl. But sadly, what I quickly came to realize is that I really don't have a lot of local reading friends. As a way to connect with others who love to read just as much as I do, I started my "Bookstagram" account (@happiestwhenreading). This community has given me a place to engage in bookish conversations, and I can truly say I have made so many online friendships that I'm truly grateful to have.

| 0:27.2 | We're going to get real and sometimes a little bit snarky about all things books. |
| 0:31.6 | This is a brand new podcast. So if you like it, I'd really love your support. |

| 0:42.6 | Rating, reviewing, and subscribing really helps new listeners find us. |
| 0:46.9 | All right, let's get rolling. |
| 0:49.6 | Hey, everyone, this is the first episode I've recorded since the podcast officially launched on January 2nd. So I've got a couple quick housekeeping items I wanted to share. First of all, I really wanted to thank you all who gave this podcast and me a shot. I was really nervous to put myself out there in this way. I was nervous that nobody would like my personality. Maybe people wouldn't want to listen. Maybe they wouldn't like my voice. It was really |
| 1:15.0 | a bit scary, but I've been totally overwhelmed by your warm response and grateful to be |
| 1:21.4 | included in your listening lineup. And I'm super thankful for all of you that have left a rating |
| 1:27.1 | and a review on iTunes. |
| 1:28.9 | We've got 44 iTunes ratings at this point, all five stars, which I'm so proud of. |
| 1:34.8 | And let's see if we can get that to 50. |
| 1:37.0 | That would be awesome. |
| 1:38.6 | And one other thing I wanted to make sure you're aware of. |
| 1:40.9 | We do talk about a lot of books in every episode. |
| 1:45.6 | In the show notes for every episode, which can be found on my blog on Wednesday mornings, you can find a list of all the books |
| 1:51.6 | mentioned, and next to each book, there's a little time stamp. And that'll tell you at exactly |
| 1:57.1 | which point in the podcast you can find the place where we talk about that book. |
| 2:01.7 | And you can just click on the little timestamp and it'll take you right to that place and |
| 2:05.7 | you can listen to it on your computer right away. So that's just a little convenience hack for you. |
