Welcome back, everybody to this week's bonus episode for the DCL Duo podcast. And this week, we have with us a special guest. We've got Mike Rahman from the BR guest podcast. And we're going to be talking just a little bit of run Disney. We start by welcoming Mike to the show. Welcome, Mike. Hey, you got your sneakers on? Slase him up. Comfort overlooks for me. I know a lot of people go the other way. I'd rather be comfortable. Yeah, yeah. Well, Mike, I know you're an avid Run Disney fan, and then you do the dopey challenge. It seems like just about every year. What got you into Run Disney? So a long time ago, you know, Galaxy far, far away. No, we were down on vacation just happened to be there at the beginning of January at the very tail end of our Christmas break at my wife and I were both teachers

we took my oldest daughter down staying at one of the all-star resorts I think it was music and we're

out at the pool and all of a sudden we notice that all these people are trickling into the hotel

and they're all well not all but there there's a lot of them that are in, you know, real nice sneakers, all of a sudden the shorts are getting a little shorter. A lot of people jogging around the hotel and, you know, like runners have a look, a lot of runners. And so I'm like, what is going on? Like is, you know, why are all these people like, you know, calves or my calves are like

So I did a little research and I found out that Walt Disney World had this thing called Marathon Weekend, this is in about 2009. And so, of course, you know, I'm down there. I'm like, oh, that sounds like so much fun. I should sign up. thinking you can sign up like that day.

But I did sign up for the next years.

And the thing was, I never trained her.

I hated running.

So I signed up for the race just as an excuse to go to Florida in January. I did run the half marathon. I almost died. I did it again in 2011. Same way. Almost died. Because that was the only run I did the entire year. It didn't, no training. training wow and walk the 13 miles and it was so much

fun though because it's so cool to get to run down main street and see all the stuff but uh you know

eventually we we had the podcast going and and we formed a running team and I kind of started taking

it more serious and training and stuff like that but yeah that was the beginning of it was just kind
