Welcome back to another episode of Reality Life with Kate K. C.

0:09.0

It's been a strange couple days if you've been living in Southern California because of the fires in Los Angeles and just north of LA.

0:17.0

I live about an hour south and I'm so surprised that I get text messages from my own mother asking me how we're doing.

0:25.0

Now whenever somebody follows the news and it says Los Angeles, somehow my relatives still will send me a note even though I'm an hour south.

0:34.0

Are you guys okay?

0:36.0

And it just reminds me that if you are from the East Coast or at least maybe this just pertains to my own family.

0:43.0

But no matter what happens in the state of California, I will get a text message to see if I'm okay.

0:48.0

So it could be like an earthquake in San Francisco, but I'll still get a note to see if I'm okay.

1:29.0

I can assure you that there was never been major damage in hurricane or a tornado in suburban Philadelphia.

1:35.0

And then I remember she'd also tell us whenever there was a thunderstorm, which is basically the biggest thing that happens in suburban Philadelphia.

1:43.0

Is a torrential rainstorm and thunderstorm and she used to tell us make sure that we do not take a shower during a storm and we unplug the TVs because sometimes the electricity will be thunder would hit the cable box outside.

2:03.0

And then the TV would go out and we would have to take the TV to a repair person and the repair person was always some weird guy who lived in a shack and then we wouldn't have a TV for a couple days.

2:15.0

And I didn't have the kind of family that sent me away to like summer camps or even put me in any activities after school.

2:23.0

What I did when I came home from after school was watch general hospital.

2:26.0

So if I couldn't watch a television, I basically lost my mind and I got to tell you it's still to this day.

2:32.0
