I just finished. Okay okay so you know I'm

I'm doing this reader challenge yes and of course I'm not done with it yet even

we're closing in on the end of 2018.

I, so I was looking for a post-colonial book.

I got a whole bunch of recommendations.

This one came from one of our listeners and I super appreciate it,

but I read Homegoing by Yard, Jesse.

I've heard that this is a really good book.

I think it was probably not to diminish

all the other books I read this year but it was probably my favorite

book this year. Wow! I mean I'm not done with the year yet but the book starts in a

post-colonial Ghana so it's and there's there's a woman who gives birth to two

children in different circumstances and over time you follow those two children and there are different circumstances.

Immediately one marries a white man who is a colonizer and another one gets shipped off as a slave.

So that's how it starts.
