executive candidate Mark Monavani.

So many topics with Mark covered here over the next hour plus in our conversation.

And I have a feeling you're going to enjoy hearing his

perspective on a wide variety of St. Louis-centric topics as he readies himself

for the election in August of 2018. We were sitting down and

talking it over and it was one of those interviews that it just kept getting

deeper and deeper and the thing that I really

liked about it is so often when you're talking politics, and this is one of my

biggest complaints regarding talking politics is you already know the answer before you ask the question because you know where the person you're interviewing

lines up politically and so therefore they're just going to follow the platform of whichever side so to speak they're on

Isn't afraid to stray from what would be considered the party line.

And as a matter of fact, as you will hear, at one point in the interview,

I actually say to him, I said,

I like a lot of the things you're saying but as somebody who's running in St

Louis County I'm not sure that a lot of the people who would be voting in St

Louis County will like what you're saying and Mark's response was okay

then fine I don't want to win the job if I'm going to have to essentially not be

who I am and not share what I really think is important to get St. Louis in the region back on
