And the biggest news potentially of the Illinois year here happened on Friday.

I am in Texas in a hotel room right now, getting ready for a family wedding.

Derek Piper was just at Brad Underwoods press conference.

We wanted to wait to hear from Brad before we did this reaction podcast.

But Derek, the district court of Central Illinois, Judge Colleen Lawless lifts Terrence Shannon suspension.

He is immediately reinstated to the team.

Illinois announced that yesterday shortly after I was on the radio with you as all this stuff was going down.

Obviously a huge day for Terrence Shannon in his potential short term and long term future.

We've got a lot of things to break down both the decision and basketball, but what was your reaction as all this was going

down yesterday? A little surprised, I think. Again, I had really no context on what was going to

the judge's mind and what the precedent was for a case like

this. So it was really just looking at the different arguments. And I knew that the Title IX was

probably going to be pretty hard to argue as far as this being deemed as a university event or

activity with the GA going.

I felt like that was flimsy on Terrence's side,

but really didn't know what the judge would say in terms of the due process

and what he was really owed in this.

And from the outside, and again, this is just an opinion.

I haven't blamed the university for how they've gone about this.

In my opinion, just in terms of like, it's a tough spot for them to be in to try to step over
