This is a case of a Cinderella story gone horribly wrong.

In this case, there won't be any glass slipper.

There won't be any handsome prints.

The defendant doesn't have to be home by midnight.

And there won't be any happy ending.

The date is April 24, 2019.

And Danny Porter, District Attorney for Gwyneth County in Gwyneth County, Georgia, is speaking

passionately to the seated jurors in front of him.

It's his opening statement in a case he's been working on for about five years.

He's telling the jury about a horrific crime involving a ten-year-old girl and how the

girl's evil stepmother starved her to death and then tried to get rid of her body.

Seated alone at the defense table, a notepad in front of her, is 36-year-old Tiffany Moss.

These two Danny Porter is referring to as the evil stepmother in his opening statements.

Tiffany is listening to him as he speaks, and she appears to be taking notes.

She listens as he tells the jury that not only is Tiffany responsible for the death of her

stepdaughter, Imani Moss, but that it wasn't even the first time she had been arrested for

abusing her.

Three years prior to Imani's death, Tiffany had been arrested and charged with first-degree

child cruelty, but she eventually reached a plea deal that was signed off on by the

Georgia Division of Family and Children's Services, or DEFACTS, that gave her just five

years probation.
