Summary

As you may know, nearly 20 ultra conservative members of Congress are doing something that we have not seen in America since before the Civil War. They are REFUSING to vote for the Speaker of the House nominated by most of their party.

They’ve literally had 12 different votes and they refuse to budge. They want a long list of concessions and even prefer for Kevin McCarthy to step down altogether. And here’s the thing, it only takes 5 of them to block this vote. They have the numbers.

Now, I loathe these 20 Republicans, but this strategy they are employing already happens all over the world. And we should study and use it ourselves all over the country. Let me unpack and explain it.
