the first black hospital, own hospital in America. But most importantly, well, yeah, most

importantly, he performed the world's first successful open heart surgery in 1893.

That is nuts. The fact that they even had the medical devices, the sanitation

to perform that extreme of a surgery. Yes. That's like what an accomplishment that long ago.

That long ago, in the man I was, I think I read that he lived another 20 or 30 years after

that surgery. Wow. 1800s. Yes. 1800s. That's freaking crazy. And also a black man that's really

just amazing as well to do everything he was probably going through around those times.

Well, one of the true medical pioneer for future African-American doctors and nurses,

man is a true trailblazer in the surgical field. So we all owe a lot to Dr. Williams because
