late into the night into Iowa. But Derek Piper is here with me tonight and we're recapping

kind of two games in one here. I don't know if we have massive takeaways after two games against lower level opponents.

But let's dive into it, Derek, is Illinois gets their second win in three days.

This one, an 8860 win over Southern.

I don't know if you call this a slow start, but it was a sloppy start.

That is for sure, with Illinois, what, nine turnovers in the first

15 minutes. It was a four-point game at that point. And then Terrence Shannon just completely

took over this game. Scores a game high, 24 points had, what, seven layups. Illinois just

physically dominates as they should against an opponent like this. 50 to 17 in the rebound battle, points in the paint,

62 to 28. Second chance points 18 to 1. Territ Shannon took over Derek and then second half

we got to see some other guys get involved. Got some extended playing time from the young guys,

but I don't know if we talk about it enough.

Like Illinois goes into most games with the best player on the floor.

Terran Chan is just a dude. He's a beast, whatever you want to call.

Yeah, he's been awesome. And that's 20 plus points in three straight games and his ability to get downhill. I mean, I was sitting next to Lauren Tate tonight.

We know how long Lauren's been around, and he's like, I have never seen in a line and I attack the rim like he has. And I'll take his word for it.
