Christmas Eve on Sesame Street. I was a huge Sesame Street Muppets fan.

I'm not sure if I'm remembering the year that Christmas Eve on Sesame Street came out or like the year or two after that, but boy, when we watched it, it was a big deal.

I was like five or six years old, and this is a time when there were only like three network television stations and also PBS.

And in our house growing up, PBS, that was the kid station. That was only on, like during the day, to watch Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers' neighborhood, and anything else that was slightly interesting to us, and that was it.

No documentaries, no mystery, no nothing else, that was it. And so for my show, and I was like five, for my show to be something that the family watched in the evening together, that was a big deal.

That was a big deal for me. So I marked it on our calendar, and I counted down the days, and when the evening finally came, we turned out all the lights is another thing we didn't do.

And my mom popped popcorn from our air popper. We had a big bowl of it with lots of salt and butter. And we watched as Big Bird and a little girl skated to Felice Navidad.
