| 0:20.4 | members. Hi, this is Annie Grace and I am answering readers questions and today I have a question |
| 0:31.7 | from Tom. Tom says, hi Annie, I have really changed my drinking. |
| 0:36.0 | I almost never drink out in public anymore, |
| 0:39.0 | mainly because of an embarrassing incident |
| 0:41.0 | that I'd rather not recount where I've decided that it's too big a risk. However, my drinking is now completely confined to my house where I seem to have a never ending supply of alcohol and beer that I've accumulated for years |
| 0:56.4 | and I cannot resist it when I'm home alone. How do I stop drinking at home alone? |
| 1:06.7 | What a great, first of all, Tom, let's celebrate your progress. This is amazing. |
| 1:07.7 | You're making amazing progress. |
| 1:09.1 | You have so much awareness about this, you have awareness about what is happening, what you want to change, which is absolutely incredible. |
| 1:17.0 | I'm curious if you've tried it, the alcohol experiment yet, it is a free 30 day experiment, it's at alcohol experiment. If you haven't tried it, I would highly recommend it |
| 1:26.1 | and here's why. |
| 1:27.3 | Sometimes we just need a little bit of our own experience |
| 1:30.8 | to confirm and by the way to take the fear out of what it might be like not to drink. |
| 1:38.0 | Sometimes we're so afraid of it. I know for years I was so afraid of it because the times when I tried not to drink I had been depriving myself and so I was feeling like I was missing out and I was feeling so upset and so when I would take a break I would be like, oh, this sucks. I would white knuckle through it. |
| 1:55.6 | And so my fear of never drinking again was off the charts. But with the alcohol experiment, |
| 2:00.9 | we do something fascinating and totally different, which is before you even start, we reframe so many things for you about what you think about alcohol that even by day one, you are approaching it with curiosity and with possibility and even with hope rather than with fear and dread and deprivation. |
| 2:18.6 | So if you haven't tried that yet, I'd highly recommend trying it. |
