Hi, everybody. Tom Woods here, still in Alabama at the Meesa's Institute for the week-long

And we're joined once again by Gene Epstein, who will be familiar to you if you're a regular

listener of the show.

Gene is the economics and book review editor at

Barron's, which you can visit at Barron's.com. And he emailed me not long ago about the Adam Smith

question, because we have some people who think Adam Smith is just the best thing going, and

he was really the father of economics, and others who say,

like Murray Rothbard, that he represented actually a retrogression in economic knowledge.

So what are we to make of all this?

What's the correct conclusion for us to draw?

That's what Gene wanted to join me to discuss today.
