And it's not safe for work. We're tentatively entitling this final episode of the history of the liberal blogosphere, the David

Brooks Dirtbag Left Alliance. In the part one of this history of the

liberal blogosphere, we talked about how the Howard Dean and Ned Lamont campaigns really put the

zap on the brains of the elite media. Sure, there was the Iraq War, and it was proving to be

exactly as catastrophic as liberals had warned it would be, and Tom DeLay was a disaster,

and word was getting around that the Bush administration had set up black sites and torture

camps, and they lied about it. But who the hell do these Vituporne of foul-mouthed bloggers

and the left think they were talking about such things openly and clearly using such blunt language. You know the

language I'm talking about, blue guy. F word, drift glass. A lot of F words. Deciding what the

national political narrative should be and how it should be discussed was the province of the

lords and ladies of the Beltway media. What issues were important and what

vocabulary was to be used and who would be authorized to use it, those were the provinces of

the media gatekeepers. People watch the Sunday shows so that on Monday they can sound smart

around the water cooler with the office.

That is the natural order of things today.

That is the atomic and subatomic and galactic structure of things today.

And liberal bloggers had meddled with the primal forces of nature.

And liberal bloggers would be made to atone.
