Welcome back to another episode of Reality Life with Kate Casey. In this bonus podcast,

I was so excited to get the chance to talk to Rachel Campos-Duffy. She was on the third season

of MTV's reality television series The Real World, and that focused on a group of diverse

strangers living together for several months in a different city each season, as cameras followed

their lives and interpersonal relationships. Now, that season was noteworthy for the depiction

of Pedro Zamoros, Struggle with AIDS, and his and other cast members' confrontations with David

Puck Rainey, which ultimately led to Rainey's eviction. These conflicts provided what

entertainment-weekly called emotional high points for the season and are credited with making

The Real World a hit. It was ranked number seven on Time Magazine's list of 32 epic moments

in reality TV history, and the season is also notable for featuring the first ever same-sex

commitment ceremony on TV between Pedro and his partner Sean Sasser. So, I'm really excited

for you to listen to Rachel talk about the experience, and also the not only be impact-defame,

but how pop culture and politics intersects, because Rachel, as you probably know, is married to

Sean Duffy, who was also on The Real World, but in Boston, and the two met on road rules and

have been married for many years and have eight children, believe it or not. I'm not the only baby

hoarder. I also got Tom Ogara, who is a head of food and beverage production for a major hotel

chain to watch Wallburgers on A&E. I was sort of interested to hear what he thought.
