In Southeast Cleveland, Ohio, there's a neighborhood called Mount Pleasant.

The population of Mount Pleasant is around 17,000, and its crime rates are well above the national average.

And it was here on a street called Imperial Avenue where a ranted smell

started filling the air.

Many residents in the area A ranted smell started filling the air.

Many residents in the area complained, thinking that a sausage factory in the neighborhood

was responsible.

But the smell never went away, and after a while people just got used to it

But around this same time along these same streets

Nearly a dozen women had gone missing, and it almost seemed like they were

vanishing into thin air. Their families who knew something terrible had

happened to them went to the police, but nothing ever

came about it.

You see, the majority of these women were black addicted to drugs and sex workers so the Cleveland

police department didn't put a lot of effort into solving their cases.
