Welcome to the MWF Motivation Podcast. My name is Rob Dyle. I am occasionally joined by my co-host, Dean DeVrice, and growing up, our mom's always told us that we had the perfect faces for radio.

So here we are with our own podcast that comes out every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and we compress a massive life topic into about 10 to 20 minutes to help you take control of your life in mind, become the best version of yourself, and follow your passion.

Hello Motivation Nation. Welcome to this episode of the MWF Motivation Podcast. This is Dean DeVrice, here with my co-host Rob Dyle in the beautiful Austin, Texas, getting real weird.

0:56.0

This is actually the very first recording that Dean and I have done, and I think we're about eight or nine episodes in, where we're in the same exact city and the same exact room recording, which I just realized, which is nuts because technology nowadays allows us to be able to speak with each other and not even be in the same city and be 1800 miles away from each other.

1:15.0

We're really trying to get old school and just sitting on the same couch with each other, speaking into the same microphone, and the benefits of that are that you get to be about six inches away from Rob Dyle's face all the time. So thank you for that by the way.

1:28.0

Yeah, you're welcome. I mean, I have another couch, and I told Dean to sit on it, but he won't sit on. He's got to sit next to me. So it's not going to be as powerful.

1:35.0

It's more powerful when I pause and by speaking in the same direction at the mic. So, so let's go ahead and dive in, although I'm not sure, I'm not, I'm not sure if it's necessary that we're arm and arm, but I kind of like it.

1:46.0

All right. Well, as always, we're going to go ahead and get started with the quote for this episode, and the quote is, invest in yourself first, expect nothing from no, yeah, that's it.

2:01.0

Invest in yourself first, expect nothing from no one and be willing to work for everything.

2:09.0

What are your initial thoughts about that, Rob?

2:11.0

Well, as you're speaking, I'm actually running down notes. So a couple of things.

2:18.0

The investment part of it, investment, not just as money, you will need to invest money if you're trying to be successful at something that is part of it.

2:26.0

If you want to spend money to make money, no company has ever been started that I am aware of that money hasn't been spent in order to bring money in.

2:36.0

That's the first thing I would think. So if you're one thing we want to talk about a lot is your purpose. And I have a feeling if you're listening to this podcast, you have a purpose and you know what your purpose is.

2:48.0

And you might just not be at the position of life to, you know, quit your job or to make a big change or sometimes it just could be scary or it could be scary.

2:58.0

And that's and that's what I was going to say.

3:00.0

It could be a scary thing for you to make that change or you might be listening to us and you know that's your destined for better things than you're doing now.

3:08.0

But you're not quite sure what that purpose is. And so as far as the purpose itself, investing your time, your money, your education, anything that you possibly can into finding your purpose and then doing everything that you possibly can to develop your purpose and then take that purpose and give it to the world.

3:33.0

I'm really glad that you brought that up because it's important to make the distinction that investing is not just, I mean, everybody thinks about investing as money like, oh, well, you know, everybody always thinks, well, I don't have enough money to invest.

3:46.0

I never have enough money, but it's not so much investing money as it is investing your energy and your time to really what Stephen Covey would call sharpening your saw, developing your craft, developing your vision for yourself.

4:01.0

And I love what you said, Rob, about, you know, working out of fear by staying in the same day-to-day actions and not really venturing out to, you know, to really pursue the greater purpose that you have.
