Summary

Ever had someone ask you if you live to work or work to live? It’s a false dichotomy, as I explain on this show. Their 23 year-old son lived at home playing video games; hear how this story ended happily. In the name of equality, governments try to eliminate any advantages that come from a strong, healthy family. Heard politicians decrying the divisiveness in American society? Now hear what is America’s real fault line and who caused it. The secret of happy living is climbing outside yourself. What!? Yes, that is the secret significance of the 5 Fs. Become healthier by understanding that physical fitness is a titanic fight between your body and your soul. Money is much more than something needed to stay alive. It’s even more than something to give away to the needy. This is a pretty good description of what it is: “In its widest possible sense, however, a man’s Self is the sum total of all that he can call his, not only his body and his psychic powers, but his clothes and his house, his wife and children, his ancestors and friends, his reputation and works, his lands and horses, and yacht and bank account.  All these things give him the same emotions. If they wax and prosper, he feels triumphant; if they dwindle and die away, he feels cast down, not necessarily in the same degree for each thing, but in much the same way for all.” -American psychologist, William James, 1890. Being a happy warrior means NEVER allowing yourself to be a tennis ball floating down the gutter of life. Read more about why the Ten Commandments were on 2 tablets instead of just 1. https://rabbidaniellapin.com/product/ten-commandments-instant-download/ Learn more about your ad choices. And those of you who've been helping to tell other folks about it and bring aboard more new

happy warriors, well, you've been doing a great job and I thank you very, very much indeed.

Have you ever heard the question? Look, do you

0:57.5

work to live or do you live to work? And usually there's two things that we know about the

1:06.4

person asking you. Number one, that person is trying to distract you. They've got some sort of agenda.

1:17.6

Number two, they're probably broke. That's right. Because invariably, what they're trying to tell you is that you're working too hard and they're saying,

1:29.3

hey, be like me. That's right. Broke. That's what they're suggesting. And so when people say,

1:37.4

hey, come on, do you work to live or do you live to work? What they're hoping that you're

1:43.6

going to respond is to say, no, of course, I work in order to

1:49.3

live. But you see, it's a bit of a silly question. It's a little bit like saying, hey, do you eat to

2:00.2

survive or do you survive to eat? Well, I don't only

2:05.1

eat to survive because if I did, then I would just eat, you know, vitamins and some bread and

2:12.6

water or I'd gobble down a couple of cans that I'd quickly open.

2:18.7

But I certainly wouldn't sit down to a meal and I wouldn't enjoy it anymore

2:24.5

if it is served on a nice starched white tablecloth and it's served up on beautiful China plates

and the food is laid out in attractive ways. All of these

things, let alone the company at a meal, all of these things add immeasurably to my enjoyment
