Rowing: Follow Team Latitude 35 as they prepare to row 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean in the Talisker Whiskey Challenge.

Today we’re catching up with the team Latitude 35 who are competing in the 2020 Talisker Whiskey Challenge, a 3,000+ mile row across the Atlantic Ocean starting December 12.

Dixon, Jono, Todd, and Jimmy will be rowing their 28-foot ocean rowing vessel where they will live, eat, sleep, “shower”, row in 2-hour shifts around the clock until they reach the finish line in Antigua.

There are up to 30 teams from around the world joining the challenge. With that many miles, social distancing won’t be a problem.

Hear how the team is preparing for such a crazy adventure and how they plan to pull off a victory, without compromise.

In today's episode, we are talking to Team Latitude 35 about they're getting ready to row across the Atlantic Ocean in what is called the Talisker Whiskey Challenge.

1:02.4

It's a 3,000 mile row from the Canary Islands to Antigua, and it's in, you know, a classic ocean rowing boat, a team of four, you know, so you do two shifts, one shift rows, the other

1:08.9

shift takes a break, and it's two hours on, two hours off. We've had episodes like this before, but what's different about this is they're a race, and they are contending for a chance to win. They are really going after the ability to win, not just to complete it, but to win. And so the record is, I believe, 29 days. So they're trying to beat that. So, you know, all this done in under a month is pretty wild. But we are catching up with them about what the preparation has been like in 2020, how they've gotten to known each other because, as you'll hear, a lot of them are from the UK. And Dixon, who's the captain, is from the U.S. And also, by the way, this episode is from my other

show without compromise, but it was obviously so appropriate here that I wanted to play it

1:51.2

here this week. And I wanted to play it before this weekend because they are starting this

2:16.2

And we're going to try to do a call in the middle of

2:19.0

the race and see how that goes. All right, folks, enjoy the episode and thanks for everybody
