I'm great how are you doing today Annie? Really good. So why don't you sort of take us back to the beginning in your relationship with alcohol? Where did it all start for you?

So it started for me around 15.

I was just in starting high school.

My parents have gotten divorced a year before.

I was just having some trouble. I was anxious all the time angry and didn't really have much of an outlet. I felt like I needed to find something. I was like I was as only child growing up so a lot of times I was by myself. I had friends but when they weren't around I was kind of just with my own

thoughts so I ended up just kind of going through the motions.

I didn't get really any help.

I didn't go to therapy or anything like that.

So I just kind of was trying to find my own way

and really just trying to find my own way and really just trying to fit in too.

I had a thought recently that a lot of the reason I drink was from anxiety,

but another reason I started drinking was to

fit in. I remember finding alcohol and then kind of showing off that I could

drink drink a lot and drink, you know, just to, uh, just to fit in just to be like I'm cool. I'm, you know, I can be, I could be cool and fun and part of anybody's crowd.

And so I found I found solace when I first started drinking.

And so it was it was helped that helped the anxiety it helped the feelings of

anger it helped just kind of quiet quiet that down And so I drank in my freshman year, drink in my sophomore year,

I drank in my sophomore year, and then it was my junior year where I got some kind of like big news.

It was kind of not good news, but it was news that I didn't know that my mom kind of withheld from me my whole entire life.

It was, um, so it was, it was something that really just dug really deep and I felt like I lost trust in her and so that was just

another reason to to drink more and then turn to other things as well.
