Welcome back for another episode of Reality Life with Kate Casey. Hope that you had a great

week. And this is a dynamite episode. I'm going to be talking about Bama Rush. Two years

ago, the entire world was introduced to the sorrary rush process at the University of Alabama.

More than 2,500 students participate in recruitment, the formal name for the weeklong process in

which women vie for spots in one of 19 sorrarytees. Recruitment at Alabama, better known as

Rush, went viral on TikTok. At Alabama, there are typically four main events that PNM's

potential new members participate in before classes begin. First is convocation where

PNM's get to know the different sorrarytees. Rush is a mutual selection process. So after

each event, PNM's make selections of which houses they would like to visit the next day.

While current sorrary members choose which PNM's they would like to invite back to their

houses. Then there's philanthropy day where PNM's learn about a chapter's volunteer work.

Then sisterhood around follows where PNM's spend one-on-one time with current sisters.

And then prepped night or preference round where PNM's have longer conversations with sorraryte

members in an effort to foster a deeper bond before both the chapters and the potential

new members make that final choice. So from their sorrarytees deliberate on the PNM's

that they've met throughout the week and they extend bids. And offer to pledge their

chapter. PNM's also ranked the houses where they visited in order to decide which one
