if you listen to the podcast we're actually live out here on the water and we're talking about the number one thing that we hear from every guide that we've ever fished with when we ask them, what's the one thing that you wish you could just change when someone hits your boat? And what's the one thing that you know instantly if they're going to catch more fish than the other people in the boat or just have an epic day? And what is it? Casting. Casting, casting, accuracy and distance. And don't leave now because we know it's not as sexy as other stuff. And I'm like, oh, it might be a good caster. Because here's the truth. The other thing they said is that most anglers, when they start talking to them about casting, they think they're a better caster than they are, almost all of them. And we were the same way as well. We always thought, oh, we don't need help with casting. We know how to cast. We just show us where the fish are. We won't find and we'll catch them. But by and far, every single time we've asked that question, the captain's said casting is the number one issue,

and most, if not every single one of the anglers think they're a better caster than they are.

So we're going to set up some stuff out here and show you how we practice casting and a couple little secrets to doing it on the water, off the water, in your backyard,

etc. We're talking about the dark cast, which is something that probably changed our game

more than anything else. Talk about equipment.

Yeah, and the solution, the good news is the solution isn't more time on the water, right?

That's all limited. What we're going to show you is ways to get better without having me on the water so that when you're on the water, you're maximizing your time. And this isn't just for newbies. We're going to be talking about some equipment things that are holding a lot of advanced anglers back. We know from experience we're making the same mistakes. And so we're going to go through all that. Someone's going to be a little controversial when we get on the equipment but but this truly has we learned the hard way and these tips are certainly going to help make sure that you save time and money while catching more fish cool we're just going to let this thing keep rolling i'm going to get behind the camera to zoom into you can see this stuff leaking when it takes some these buckets and we'll start doing that yeah so we'll have some buckets some buckets here. But first, while we're getting set up, we'll just start talking about the equipment. So you see it's both holding spinning, spinning tackle. Don't be like me. I thought that spinning tackle were for just people who didn't know how to throw bait cast reels. I did that for many years. I was bait cast only and I literally would look down upon anybody that I saw holding a spinning rod.

And once thin braid came out as a total game changer to the point where now I use spinning tackle more than anything else.

I still use bait cast on occasion, but a good spinning reel can outfish a bait caster of the same price.

Nine times out of 10, if not the same price nine times out of 10 if not if not

95 times out of 100 so don't dismiss this because you see spinning gear trust me it makes a big

difference it's all about having a good equipment and thin braid line that is a total game changer

the goal here is distance and accuracy with the least amount of energy.

And this type of setup that we're going to be using today is what does.

You basically need to have just a nice rod.
