0:41.0 | and give you kind of the brief brief overview. So this naked mind is solely from my own story. I do have a master's degree in science, but it has nothing to do with anything that I teach at this naked mind. |
0:54.0 | And what happened was I found myself drinking more than two bottles of wine and I feeling completely stuck and trying to do what you would logically think you should do, |
1:02.8 | which is drink less alcohol. |
1:04.6 | But here's the thing. |
1:05.8 | I didn't find that easy. |
1:07.4 | In fact, I found it incredibly difficult. |
1:09.7 | I would do things like make rules for myself |
1:11.5 | and break those rules and then beat myself up about that. |
1:15.0 | And I entered into this time of really a downward spiral of pain and shame and blame. |
1:21.0 | And it got to the point where I would look in the mirror and I couldn't even meet my own eye contact because I hated so much that this fermented liquid in a glass that I knew was just a drink, had so much control over me that I found myself |
1:38.1 | unable to or unwilling to not drink it. And I was able to take breaks for short periods of time, |
1:44.4 | but they felt like alcohol diets. |
1:46.6 | I felt deprived, I felt like I was missing out, |
1:48.7 | I felt like I was outside of all of society, |
1:52.2 | my friendship groups, my networking groups, and I would just feel constantly |
1:57.2 | depressed if I wasn't drinking. This was the most poignant during the two pregnancies |
