You're going to. So tonight I'd like to continue with a series of talks on the Satya Petana Suta that I began last year. It was based on a wonderful book by the venerable

Analio, a German monk who had studied in practice in Sri Lanka called Satipitana to direct path to realization.

So the Buddha begins-Buddana-Suta with a very bold and unamiguous statement.

With a very bold and unambiguous unambiguous statement.

He says Bicus.

And Bicus here refers not only to monks or nuns, but because he refers to anyone who was practicing this path of liberation.

So in this context the Buddha is speaking to us. He says, Bicus, this is the direct path for the purification of beings, for the overcoming of sorrow and lamentation, for the disappearance of Duka and

discontent, for the attainment of the true way, for the

realization of Nibana, namely the four Satipitanas.

That's a very clear statement about the nature of this path of practice and where it's leading.

For the overcoming of suffering,

for the realization of Nibana.

And then he continues the discourse with a brief definition of Satipetano meditation.

He points out right in the beginning the four fields, we could call them the four mindful abidings, the four pastures of mindfulness, of awareness.

And also the Buddha points out the qualities of mind that need to be cultivated in order to accomplish this goal of liberation.

So again, continuing in the Buddha's words, for the four Saty Petanas, what are the four?

Here bikus in regard to the body, abide contemplating the body, ardent, clearly knowing, and mindful,

free from desires and discontent in regard to the world.
