Today we'll be telling the story of St. Cuthbert,

whose feast is celebrated on March 20th. St. Cuthbert, whose feast is celebrated on March 20th.

St. Cuthbert was born around the year 634 in what is now Scotland,

but back then it was called Northumbria.

He was born only a few years after the king converted to Christianity, so the country was still in a lot of conflict and many people still needed to hear Christ's message during Cuthbert's lifetime.

St. Cuthbert spent a lot of time on missionary journeys, preaching and teaching the people.

He wanted to retire and live as a hermit, but that time was cut short when he was elected

Bishop of Hexham and spent the remainder of his life in that position.

He is the patron state of the kingdom of Northumbria.

Now it's time for our story.

St Cuthbert had been making his way down south, following along the river Teviat,

teaching and preaching and baptizing the people that live there among the mountains.
