Welcome to talking scripture. I'm Bryce and I'm Mike and today we're going to

tackle the second half of Alma's letters to his three sons. In our previous

podcast we addressed his letter to Heleman and Chiblon.

Now we address his letter to a wayward son, one who's committed a very serious sin.

His name is Correantin and all of today's material are letters from Alma to his son Coriantin.

And he starts off with brilliant advice for parents.

If you've ever struggled with how to discipline a child, this is how he jumps into it.

And chapter 39 is a beautiful pattern, Mike, isn't it?

It is.

Alma 39 really is a pattern for how we can parent, how we can help our children when they mess up and I really

like the idea of letting the consequences do the teaching and his parents were a guide on the

side to kind of help them see the consequences see how they can change their behavior and get a moving

forward.

One thing I noticed, I remember one time I went to a seminar where they talked about parenting

and they sense

it's like your kids don't even listen to what you're saying.

They sense that emotion and that just kind of overrides
