And I've been looking forward to this one for a long time.

Today's guest needs no introduction, but I'm going to give him one.

Anyway, it's the man, the myth, the legend.

It's Warren Tate, News Gazette, WDWS, the original multimedia reporter in Champaign, Urbana,

and just an absolute legend in my profession

and really in Alana athletics.

I mean, he's synonymous with Alina athletics because he's seen more of a lot of

athletics than anybody, right?

So I had a lot of fun catching up with Lauren talking about his life, talking about

his profession,

and talking about the Illini.

I ask him some questions that people ask everybody about the Aligni, the Mount Rushmore's,

the 89 versus 05, the coaches.

But I also dive a little bit into the profession, how much has changed since he started

back right after World War II.

And he's just an encyclopedia of O'I.9 knowledge.

And he's a guy I really, really respect.

I didn't really get to know Lauren when I was a student here, but when I came back from covering into Calb for a couple months and came back on the line I beat,

Lauren has been nothing but kind to me and gracious to me.
