Interesting times call for interesting adventure sports podcast episodes. Today's interview is really just a conversation between Dan Vincent and I. You know him from Monkey, the home workout equipment that's really popular these days with the gym being closed, and also from the Live Wild or Die podcast. He interviewed me a couple weeks ago, if you remember,

0:21.3

and had a great conversation.

0:22.6

We decided to record again.

0:24.0

We're both stuck at home, and we both have podcast and equipment,

0:27.9

decided to just record what we thought about what's going on,

0:32.2

our reflection about the situation,

0:34.3

and what it can teach us, what the overall changes to society might be, and all

0:39.6

overall changes to the world of adventure. And what adventure has taught us about dealing with

0:43.7

stuff like this. I do want to say from the outset, we are trying to maintain a positive,

0:50.0

what can we learn from this attitude and approach. But if you are really going through it right now because of the virus, I do not want to undermine that and want to think that everything's just hunky dory and that we can all learn a lesson from this because it that you can't get around the fact that millions of people are really struggling through this.

1:10.3

And if you're one of those people, my heart goes out to you and I really want to help you in any way I can.

1:16.7

My wife and I are definitely supporting the restaurants that we've been supporting, the school

1:22.7

board, the school systems around here with food and helping in any way we can. And we want to do that with this

1:28.5

community. So if you are struggling, I do not want you to think this conversation is trying to

1:32.7

just undermine that or, you know, think that it's not a big deal for folks because we know it is.

1:39.6

We just, Dan and I are just trying to be optimists. And we are optimists and we're trying to be

1:43.8

positive. And so I hope you learn something. Hope you can maintain a healthy, positive perspective. But again, you know, there's, it's just very scary for a lot of people. So anyway, you know, a lot of people want to keep a sense of normalcy right now, and that's great. To me, when history's happened, I want to talk about it. I want to talk about, you know, history in the making.

2:06.3

And so this is historical. This is going to change the world as we know it. This is going to

2:09.8

change a world of adventure and adventure sports. So our conversation just kind of goes all over

2:15.3

the place about that. And if you don't enjoy this setting, no worries.

2:19.4

We're going back to totally normal episodes on Monday.

2:22.4

But I just thought we'd mix it up a little bit and talk about some current events.
