Summary

Karen Marie Johnston is a sober coach, social worker & yoga teacher for addiction & mental health. She organises beautiful retreats and brings together a unique blend of personal development & spiritual practice to marginalised women. She has worked exclusively with women in the sex industry for the last 2 decades and has managed award-winning projects, across 4 different cities. She goes out into red light districts, weekly, offering support to some of societies most vulnerable women. Her work has been featured on BBC Radio 4's ‘Women's Hour' and Channel 4's ‘The Secret Millionaire'. She holds hope in some of the darkest environments and has witnessed deeply complex trauma. Yet, she wholeheartedly believes in transformation & feels privileged to walk alongside women, as they embark on their own journey of recovery & healing.

We discuss:

-Her work helping sex workers to overcome trauma

-How to get out of your head and back into your body

-How trauma develops

-Karen shares why she’s an ‘unlikely' yoga teacher and how to get the most from it even if you’ve been put off yoga in the past.

-And loads more.
