1:41.9	Pierre stopped to take a breath. He always counted the steps as he ascended the tower.
1:47.0	It was almost ritualistic. He had been working at the Eiffel Tower for 11 years now, and his job
1:53.0	was to walk the stairs of the tower to make sure nobody was lingering after it closed for the night.
1:59.3	He looked at his watch. 11.30 p.m. He was making good time. He was making the night. He looked at his watch.

2:08.2	It was pretty common to find people lingering on the tower after hours,
2:11.0	whether it be vandals, sneaky teenagers,
2:14.6	or simply tourists who were unaware that the tower had closed.

2:26.0	He was a little more than two-thirds of the way up the tower at this point.
