Summary

For those of us that like the creepy, Christmas is a time for ghost stories. This is also a time of markets and Europe is world famous for their Christmas markets. We thought it would be interesting to wander some of these markets and find out if anything is haunting them. While we didn't find any direct hauntings specific to these markets, there are buildings and locations near these markets that have spirits and legends connected to them. On this episode, we explore the history and nearby hauntings of several of the Christmas markets throughout Europe. This Month in History - The Birth of Fiorello H. LaGuardia.

Merry Christmas.

So this episode happens to be dropping right on Christmas,

0:16.8

and it's a perfect theme because we're going to be looking at haunted Christmas markets all across Europe.

Kelly, the way that this one came about is earlier this week you heard us drop another podcast episode into our feed,

0:34.0

the How Ha Haunted podcast with Rob Kirkup.

0:37.0

And we were originally supposed to do like a

0:39.9

collaborative effort. And I suggested, hey, why don't we do haunted Christmas markets? Because I saw

0:46.0

this video out there on YouTube that was talking about like 15 haunted Christmas markets. So we both

0:52.2

watched the video and we're like, oh, okay, yeah, that looks like a great idea. Well, then we went to do the research. And upon doing the research,

0:59.3

we realized this was probably made up by AI. Stories, pictures, you name it, all made up. So we kind

1:08.7

of threw that out and decided we would just trade episodes with each other

1:12.5

to make it easy. But I told Kelly, I said, well, you know, when I was doing the research,

1:18.6

the markets are bordered by these historic buildings, and some of those buildings have hauntings

1:26.0

in them. And a lot of these market areas, while they don't

1:29.5

necessarily have a ghost walking through them, the possibility for that being the case is pretty

1:34.7

high because what did they do in the public squares? That mask does not want to stay up there, Kelly.

I'm going to have to find a different place for it,
