I randomly met my guest a few years ago in Singapore, just one of those casual meetings at a conference, did not think much about it at the time. I'm sure he did not think much about it at the time when he met me. But it's always fun to have that moment and then years forward into the future, you can reach back in the middle of a conversation like I'm going to have today with Matt Smith, CEO of Royalty Exchange.

It's very cool that Matt and I had a chance to just meet like that. I enjoy having that

chance. I think it sometimes makes the conversation a little bit

easier when you've had a chance to break bread, even for a moment, just even if it's for a shake

of a hand somewhere, anywhere in this big, this big wide planet we're all on. Now, you know,

I love entrepreneurial stories. I love the idea that someone

takes this nugget of info, this insight, this idea, this creative impulse, and run with it.

And they do something not expected. They branch off.

Matt is in the middle of that with his business royalty exchange.

Unbeknownst to most of us, whether it's musicians, other types of artists, authors,

there is a royalty spinooff constantly happening, nonstop.

Those payments go to somebody.

They might go to the artist themselves.

They might go to a producer.

Maybe it's a split of some sort.

But royalties is serious business.

And Matt, with a great creative impulse, is aggregating royalties, offering a marketplace for royalties, and letting everyone participate in trying to get an uncorrelated stream of earnings into their portfolio that did not exist before.

That's pretty cool.
