In practically every civilized society in all of recorded history, there exists the concept of good versus evil.

The forces of good, of course, are usually personified by the people who are actually writing that history,

or sometimes by their religious deities who act as their champions.

But for something to be categorized as good, there must also be its opposite number, for comparison.

The proverbial flip side of the coin, if you will.

In terms of legends and folklore, this concept of evil is usually given the form of monsters or demons.

And whereas in many legends, the ultimate goal of these creatures of darkness may simply be to snuff out the good folk.

There also exists another more insidious goal.

That being for the creature to actually seize control of an innocent person and to remake them in their own horrific
