As you know, I worked for a large metropolitan city area that had a very big and complex case management tool.

I helped design, actually, and so forth.

So believe me when I tell you,

I do understand what HIPAA violations are and what HIPAA is and what can and can't say, and to whom

you can and can't say it. You are perfectly within your rights to volunteer medical information

to anybody you want to talk to. And they're perfectly within the rights to ask you as long as

they're not an employer or other official organ like that who's prying into that in ways that are specifically

prohibited. If I'm a case manager, I can't say, oh, crap, look what this guy's got. Look how

horribly he failed his drug test. Hey, Phil, come over here. Check this out. That's a HIPAA violation.

Yes, it is. A reporter asking someone if they're vaccinated is not a HIPAA violation.
