Summary

It's been six weeks since the White Sox and Cubs made the José Quintana trade, and early returns are unanimous: Cubs fans are freaking out. They feel like the Cubs gave up too much in Eloy Jimenez, Dylan Cease and 2 more prospects. This became apparent after Quintana gave up 6 runs to the last place Phillies last Friday. On the podcast, Chuck Garfien, Ryan McGuffey and Rob Wiatrowski bring on resident Cubs expert David Kaplan who in a spirited conversation says that the White Sox received a Mercedes-type return for Quintana who he believes is only a Buick. Later in the podcast, Chris Kamka comes on to talk about Quintana, Lucas Giolito getting his first major league victory, Alec Hansen's Double-A debut and more.

Walk-off wins are always nice.

0:51.2

Good rebuild wins.

0:52.5

Yeah. wins are always nice. Good rebuild wins. You had Yommer Sanchez with a walk-off win. You had Tim Anderson with a walk-off win and Lucas Gialito. I'll say there's nothing about the White Sox winning, at least like post-all-Star break, let's say. Nothing about it has been bad because it's been so fun the way they play whether it's the first inning

from the first few months where like i don't know how they're going to be in this game. And now this last month, month and a half, they're not really out ever. Yeah, I think you're in a lot of games. Yeah. And there's reason, you know, obviously a lot of the guys that have gotten called up are on the DL or are coming back from the DL. But there's reason to sit there and still look at the box, go, oh, Gialito's pitching, and Lopez will be back soon. What happens with Nikki Delmonico and Yon Mekada is yet to be determined, but look, there's a lot of reasons to love what's going on. Even though I know some fans are like clamoring for the number one pick, they're pretty much locked into a top three pick. I think everyone can take a deep breath about that. Even if it's top five, it's a top

Cubs top hitting prospect, Elohimenez. Cubs top pitching prospect, Dylan Cis, plus Matt Rose and Bryant. I think it's Flete. I thought it was Fleet. No, it's Flete. It's Flete. Okay. In return, the Cubs got Kintana, one of the most consistent starters in baseball, and yes, one of the best
