Today, I want to talk about the power that comes from being consistent. Now, the bottom line is if you want success and I know you do, you have to be consistent. What's sad, however, is that consistency and human beings is extremely rare.

Success in business and frankly, also in life doesn't come from the most talented or the most skilled very often comes from the most consistent consistency is one of the most important keys to success.

Aristotle said, we are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act, but it's a habit. In other words, it's not what we do once in a while or a flash in the pan or just when we feel like it or occasionally that shapes our destiny. It's what we do consistently. It's like the tortoise in the hair story. With time and consistency, you can conquer anything. It's how water can carve through rock. Without being consistent, you're really unable to achieve anything.

It's very often though, not sexy or glamorous, but it works. You don't get success overnight. It comes from consistent work over time while you're continually making little improvements while keeping your goal in your mind's eye.

It's realizing and remembering that regardless of what you want in life, there aren't any shortcuts. When you're willing to work hard and stay focused and be consistent and also be patient, success is inevitable.

Consistency is not about perfection. It's about never giving up. When you're persistent, you can very often get something, but you have to be consistent to keep it.

I'll give you another great example of consistency and how it's proven to be successful and this is in the business environment. Many very successful businesses have discovered the power of consistency through franchising.

For example, you can go to McDonald's or Wendy's or a Burger King Taco Bell or Kentucky Fried anywhere in the world and the food will always taste the same. That's one of the keys to their success. That consistency of course also builds trust, but in their case it also builds incredible success.

Consistency also means that you stick with it and it means you stick with it even long after you don't feel like doing it anymore. Consistency is also relevant with your relationships obviously. That's what holds a relationship together.

Your initial communication and emotional start the relationship, but it's your consistency that will maintain it. Now this counts in both business and personal relationships.

Now of course, you realize that consistency is also super critical as it relates to your health. If you exercise, you know that consistency is one of the most important components.

It also applies to your eating habits as well. Anytime, frankly, you're consistent in any area of your life, it always improves.

Whenever you observe someone closely that's super successful, you'll start to see that it's not just their motivation or skills or education that brought that success.

It's that consistent action and determination that played the largest role. And stop trying to be perfect. You know who you are. Consistency is infinitely more important than perfection.

Remember success comes from those little actions done day in and day out from that consistency. Be consistent and success is yours.
