0:05.6	why you're involved in trying to change police attitudes to domestic violence.
0:11.0	The reason I'm involved is because my mum was failed by the system at large
0:16.0	and primarily by the police force.
0:18.4	There were a catalogue of errors that led to her death
0:20.8	and that has brought so much to light during the inquest.
0:23.8	And ever since then, my family and I have been part of a massive activist campaign
0:29.6	to create change and awareness and change.
0:32.6	Because the list of criticisms of Essex police
0:37.6	to do with the handling of Mark Chivers, who's the man who killed your mum,
0:42.6	is as long as you're armed, it was a complete failure on their part in so many ways, wasn't it?
0:47.6	It was. Yes, and it cannot happen again because he wasn't a subtle case.
0:55.6	It was glaringly obvious from the reports and the inquest of what could have been done.
1:01.6	And so we're using Mum's life as a catalyst for change.
