| 0:00.0 | I think I had joked at several points throughout this that I'd watched the entirety of Netflix, which is getting closer and closer to happening as the days go by. |
| 0:15.8 | Welcome back, everybody, this week's bonus episode of the DCL Duo podcast. |
| 0:19.8 | And this week, you've just got me. I wanted to do just a |
| 0:22.6 | quick bonus episode for everyone out there for two reasons. One is just, well, first to thank everybody. |
| 0:29.1 | As many of you know, we haven't had a few bonus episodes now for a while. We actually had to skip a week of |
| 0:33.6 | the podcast because I came down with kind of a bit of a serious illness in the age of |
| 0:37.9 | COVID, if you can believe it, I got the chicken pox. So I don't know quite how that happened. |
| 0:43.3 | I had had them as a kid, but apparently not bad enough. And looks like I never actually got |
| 0:47.0 | the vaccine. So had it as an adult. And it was a pretty serious case and led to a few additional |
| 0:51.9 | complications afterwards. But I am on the mend, not fully back up to |
| 0:56.1 | 100% yet, but certainly getting there. And I just wanted to take a minute first to, well, first I want |
| 1:01.4 | to thank my family, especially my wife, who has been taking care of a lot of things around our |
| 1:05.1 | house for the last six weeks. She's been pulling double duty for us. And I really appreciate it. And she's's taken care of me and it's been fantastic and really helped me get on the mend I think faster than I otherwise would have been able to. But I also want to thank all the folks out there who listen to the podcast, friends of the show who reached out with well wishes and checked in on me. It was a pretty lonely time because of the COVID quarantine, pretty much laid up at home for most of the time, except for a little bit of time I had to spend in the, hospital actually, one night. But all of you out there kind of reaching out, checking in on me, you know, sending notes of encouragement or just chatting with me about things over a text message was really, really helpful just to keep me sane, I guess, because it was a fairly lonely period of time around |
| 1:45.7 | here. But I wanted to let folks know that I am on the mend. I am feeling better, doing better and |
| 1:49.9 | back up and around. And obviously we're, you know, back to sort of recording the podcast. |
| 1:54.2 | My hands are still a little iffy from kind of a complication I had from the chicken pox. They've |
| 1:58.7 | been a little, we'll call arthritic, but they're getting back to it. And yeah, I'm healing up nicely. So just a big thank you out there to everyone. A big thank you to all the listeners, too, bared with us through the hiatus that we had there for that week and slow down in episodes. We're going to try to get back onto our regular recording schedule and start producing those episodes again as I heal back up. It's a way to keep my mind active and to keep me active and not have me just laid up in bed. I think I had joked at several points throughout this that I'd watched the entirety of Netflix, which is getting closer and closer to happening as the days go by. But I am looking forward to being back up and around, just looking forward to getting back into a regular routine. So yeah, doing much, much better these days. Also just want to take a quick moment to remind everyone about the Turkey Lurkey 5K that's going on this week. Started up this past Saturday, November 21st. It'll run all the way through Sunday the weekend after Thanksgiving. We've got a lot of promotions out there around it. You can certainly go back and listen to, I believe it's episode, bonus episode 34 of the podcast for more information. But I'm also just going to take a minute to remind folks that if you want to participate, all you have to do is walk, run, crawl a 5K. Frankly, we'll take you sitting in a chair of the length of time you think it'll take you to run a 5K, trips back and forth to the refrigerator on Thanksgiving Day that equate to a 5K. |
| 3:07.7 | Whatever you want to do, we just want to see pictures from our listeners, hopefully getting out there and enjoying a little bit of exercise. It's going to be complicated for me this year, given how laid up I've been at home. But I'm going to try to get there and walk a few days this week to see if I can't, can't get back out there moving and maybe get something close to a 5K on the books. But just walk, run, crawl, do whatever you can. |
| 3:25.6 | Get out there, enjoy some fresh air. |
| 3:27.3 | Be safe. Take a photo. Throw it up on, you know, primarily Instagram, Twitter. You can put it into our DCL duo vlog and podcast group on Facebook. If you're not a member, feel free to head over and join. Tag us. Use the hashtag Turkey Lurkey 5K. |
| 3:43.3 | And we will give you a shot at some fabulous prizes or a prize package that we're |
| 3:48.1 | going to give away that includes a signed copy of the 55ers by a guest we had on the show, |
