Welcome to talking scripture. I'm Mike and I'm Bryce and today we're going to be

talking about Alma 17 through 22. This is the story of the Sons of Mosiah.

They're going out doing missionary work.

And chapter 17 is Ammon's approach to the missionary work.

Probably one of the most famous stories. I remember as a kid learning about this and just being just enthralled with this idea of they're cutting off arms like what's going on here and so the 17th chapter is where he approaches

Amman does he goes up always talks about going up he goes up to the land of

Nephi and he's coming to where the Lamanites are and he comes to the king and

essentially says I want to be your servant now he doesn't just get to go walk up to the king

he's captured tied up and taken to the king. He's captured, tied up, and taken to the king. And as he gets there, I've always

found an interesting Bryce that the king, when he finds out the ammon says, I want to be your servant,

what is the king offer him?

His daughter.

So interesting.

But you know there's a lot to that.

I wonder if he's saying, wait a minute you're the son of the king of the Nephites.

I'm the son of the king of all the land and I don't know maybe he had some

military we can make like a political tie you know we know that that happens in
