Welcome to the Gritty Podcast. I am your host, Brian Call. And I am joined today by my brother,

0:06.6

the Gritty Bromine. How are you, Brent? I'm well. Thank you. It's early in the morning.

0:12.4

It's stupid early. We're knocking this podcast out early. Today we're going to talk about boots and feet,

0:22.0

hiking kind of a foot system. Now I just completed a hike with a bunch of different hikers.

0:30.0

Kind of did a group hike up there in Montana along the Galaton River. It was a fun hike.

0:36.4

We got together, did a little Q&A with a bunch of folks that were really cool that came to the hike.

0:41.4

And we got a lot of questions around boots. People were asking me about boots and everyone there

0:47.6

kind of had their different boot as well that they had been using. And I got asked about socks.

0:56.4

It just a lot of questions, sheep feet and so on. So here is an assortment of boots right here.

1:02.1

What does that one I got to? One, two, three, four, five, six different styles of boot. These are all

crispy boots. Are you wearing some boots as well? No, but I am wearing some crispy shoes.

1:14.7

What's up with those two? Some tennis shoes. But these boots, I've been fortunate because I get

1:22.7

to test and try a lot of different boots. See how they feel. And I do lots. I mean, I spend a lot

1:29.6

of time hiking or in the mountains hunting. So I get to use them day after day. Now I have my opinions

1:35.6

because based on my feet, my experience, my feet sweat a lot. What I've learned just from

1:42.4

hunting with different guys, avid hikers, backpackers, everybody has a different. What I use and what

1:51.2

works for me isn't going to work for lamppers. And what lamppers use isn't going to work for me.

1:56.8

And the same is true with Ben, Anthony, dad, like everybody's just a little different. And sometimes,

2:03.5

you know, sometimes what I have is perfect for another guy. But what I figured I'd do is go over

2:11.2

each of these boots, how I like to use them, how they're different, my opinions. And mostly,

2:19.1

what I think is useful is we're going to get into the socks and talk how I run socks. I think

2:26.2

that the sock liner and the sock itself are critical. You know, I can get away with a lot of
